Handing over control has never been easy for me.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, the lovely and utterly-reasonable people at Calyx agreed to let me pursue a few design ideas and I immediately called my friend, Judy. You may remember Judy of the super-cool tattoo from <a href=\"http:\/\/katherinemalmo.com\/blog\/2010\/04\/19\/redesigned\/\" target=\"_blank\">this post<\/a>. As soon as we spoke I knew she was the perfect person to create the cover for so many reasons \u2013 here are the top ten.<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She&#8217;s so much cooler than I am. Do you need to look at <a href=\"http:\/\/katherinemalmo.com\/blog\/2010\/04\/19\/redesigned\/\" target=\"_blank\">that tattoo<\/a> again?<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She\u2019s had breast cancer.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She uses the word \u2018hoopty.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She&#8217;d never pick up a book about cancer (unless it was written by a friend who wanted her to design the cover).<\/p>\n<p>5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We both love the television show <em>What Not to Wear<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She\u2019s a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.judystuhmer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">talented graphic designer<\/a>.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.judystuhmer.com\/\"><\/a> Oh yeah, there\u2019s that.<\/p>\n<p>7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She has a whole cabinet of Japanese anime dolls. At least I think that&#8217;s what they are.<\/p>\n<p>8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She designed the logo and image for our <a href=\"http:\/\/survivorshippartners.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">friend\u2019s business<\/a>. I love that logo. BTW \u2013 Great cancer\/health related blog on her site.<\/p>\n<p>9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She happened to be between projects. How lucky for me!<\/p>\n<p>10.\u00a0\u00a0 She works FAST. Thank goodness.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m in love with the end result. Eyelid twitches be gone!
