That term is so much more politically correct than child-dominated play. But dominated is so much more <a href=\"http:\/\/katherinemalmo.com\/blog\/2010\/11\/11\/babies-dont-talk\/\" target=\"_blank\">appropriate<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The other evening we\u2019re in her bedroom.<\/p>\n<p>She keeps her palms on the floor and kicks up her legs like a donkey. <em>Do dis Mommy!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I do it.<\/p>\n<p>Then she jumps from a squat reaching up toward the ceiling. <em>And do dis Mommy!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I do it.<\/p>\n<p>Then she puts them together \u2013 a donkey kick and a squat jump. <em>Do dis den do dis Mommy!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I do it.<\/p>\n<p><em>Again! Again!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I do it again and again. She stops doing it but insists I continue. I\u2019m wearing my glasses, a wool sweater, and my sheepskin-lined slippers.<\/p>\n<p>She puts her hands on her hips and watches. Every time I try to stop she shrieks <em>Again! Again!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I am SUCH a good mom.<\/p>\n<p>PS &#8211; I&#8217;ll write about my exciting book-related news when the contracts are signed.
